Coating/Photo Etching
We hold a vast stock of multi-layered coated glass as well as our own coating plants for single-layer thin films.
Within the Instrument Glasses group are Datasights Limited, who are experts in photo etching.
Photo etching describes he various processes of fabricating accurate patterns on glass and similar substrate, using thin film technology and etching expertise.
Their production team is housed in a purpose-built factory and equipped to deal with most of the specialised requirements that can occur in the electronic and engineering sector, as well as the optical lighting and entertainment industries.
They provide a complete service, from initial design through to the manufacture of finished components:

Glass blanks can be manufactured in our factory and worked to any desired finish, creating shorter lead times. Datasights is one of the few companies capable of producing all our imagery requirements at one facility.
They are BS EN ISO 9002: 1994 approved and conversant with theatre, studio and arena lighting; they have helped to complement and extend the range of gobos and patters already available.
Datasights are constantly updating their processes and are improving their range of coloured gobos. These are now available for most lanterns.
