Hot Mirror IR Filters

Most light sources produce more heat then alight; by adding a heat-reflective filter to the beam path, the temperature can be reduced.

The actual reduction achieved depends to a great extent on the light source used as well as the individual application conditions.

Hot Mirrors/IR Filters are used in fibre optic systems to protect the glass fibres from overheating and burn-out, also reducing heat in projectors and heat-sensitive systems.
