Toughening

Currently we have three of the most modern roller hearth toughening furnaces in Europe, capable of toughening all types of glass varying in thickness from under 1mm up to 25mm, ranging from normal float patterned to very thin coloured glass, and specialising in toughening small pieces down to 5mm square or diameter.

The benefits of toughened glass are as follows:

  • ·High impact resistance;
  • ·Maximum Working temperature of 300°C;
  • ·Break pattern for safety to all BS Standards (on 4mm and thicker);
  • ·Resistant to differential temperatures.
