Fibre Optics
(i)Lenses and heat filtersLenses and heat filters are required in most fibre optic systems.
Available from our stock are hot mirror filters, designed to reflect the infrared rays (heat) and transmit the visible light, thus reducing the temperature in the system. We also stock cold light mirrors, which work to the opposite of the hot mirrors in that they reflect the visible light and transmit the infrared (heat).
Our optical division supply and manufacture all types of lenses for fibre optic systems as follows. Our standard range of fibre optic lenses come with a 19.05mm diameter and a range of radii. The radius has a positive or negative curvature.
All our lenses can be polished (for high transmittance of light) or frosted (for the diffusion of the light). We have a vast number of lenses available from our stock. We have an extensive lens-making facility for which customers specify their requirements. We also mount and cement our lenses to free issue metalwork and dichroic reflectors, drilling the reflectors where necessary.
(ii)Dichroic colour segment wheel
For very high quality light output and high temperature resistance, dichroic coated filters are used. These are cut into various shaped wheels and mounted onto a boss.
